1. Introduction Video: Watch the introductory video below to get a general understanding of the Columbian Exposition.
2. Who Am I?: Choose one of the roles from the Who Am I? menu. On that page, you have been provided with background information about your role, and several resources on the 1893 World's Fair that are appropriate for your perspective. Tour through these resources and take note of exhibits, buildings and other sights from the World's Fair that your perspective might find particularly interesting.
3. Caption Your Images: Choose four sights/buildings/exhibits that made a significant impression on you during your visit. Show those places and then reflect on what you saw and how it made you feel. For each of your choices, answer these questions:
Why did you choose this site/exhibit?
What were you hoping to see? What did you expect? Why?
What did the organizers intend to portray to visitors?
Describe what you witnessed and perhaps who you met.
What did you learn about others and self? Do you feel that the fair's organizers perceive
people like you as powerful?
What questions did this experience raise about who is powerful in the United States? In
the world?
4. Present: Present your scrapbook in the form of a binder, online photo book, Power Point, Prezi, or other format your teacher approves.
